The Simpson family will finally be broadcast in high definition from February 15’s premiere of “Take My Life, Please”. The episode will appear in a 16:9 ratio on US TV screens, and will be shown on Sky One HD in the UK on February 27.
When Mayor Quimby inducts Vance Connor into the Springfield Walk of Fame, Homer recounts how he ran against Vance for class president in high school and lost. After a little digging, Homer learns that the election had been rigged, and he wonders what course his life would have taken if only fate had smiled on him. Homer soon meets an old Italian cook at Luigi’s Italian Restaurant whose magical tomato sauce, when stirred in just the right way, reveals what Homer’s life would have been like had he won the election. However, when Homer gets a chance to see what his life could have been, he wonders if fate was actually been on his side all along.
This will be the first Simpsons footage to air in full high definition since The Simpsons Movie in 2007, which was carried in hi-def on HBO and rendered in 1080p on Blu-ray. The opening titles of the episode will also be in high definition. The show will now be the only animated program in Fox’s Sunday night lineup to be broadcast in such a way.
Yeah! 😀
This is really great think for show, and in a really good time too! 🙂
These days there were a lots of speculations about rates and the future of the Simpsons, and this is episode that gonna show what Simpsons really are!!! 😀
Quality episode + HD show = success
Excellent. 😀
Pity that bloody Channel Ten (in Australia) will be ditching their Ten HD network in favour of a sports channel come April. >:(
Yeah friggn’ channel ‘ONE’ is replacing Ten HD, which is stupid because Ten HD looks like the HD channel that has the most effort put into it. Hopefully its widescreen when broadcast here.
well finially the simpsons are going to look as they are supposed to look good for them.
The Simpsons will still air in standard definition on Channel Ten, but not in high definition. >:( It’ll still air in widescreen, however the quality will be decreased due to SD limitations.
Nevertheless, I’m still glad that The Simpsons have finally made the switch.
Hopefully this will help the low ratings.
NOO!! Why did they have to do that, i loved the way the old simpsons episodes look, the sortof fuzz gave them a good feeling, i hated when they changed it in the newer episodes and i was very annoyed with teh way the movie looked and now if every episode will look like that, it’ll just lose its heart. Theres no need to make it look better, if anything they should make it look like it used to look. i dont know why you’re all excited
The simpsons in HD look like the TV show “Drawn Together”. And that’s not a compliment. They’re not appearing real any more but really like cheap computer animated low quality drawings. Probably just in order to save money. That sucks.
