The switch to high definition, which accounted for a major shift in the lack of promotion, wasn’t enough to save The Simpsons from another lacklustre ratings performance. While Take My Wife, Please did not break new lows, it received a total of 6.82 million viewers. It is the third least watched episode of the season but the best ratings since November, which is an improvement at least.
The show was in fourth place at 8:00, and its ratings held up well compared to the competition:
CBS – The Amazing Race (9.42 million)
NBC – Dateline (8.27 million)
ABC – Extreme Makeover: Home Edition ( 7.59 million)
Other shows on Fox for the night rated like so:
7:00 – NASCAR (5.55 million)
7:30 – American Dad (r) (3.44 million)
8:30 – King Of The Hill (5.32 million)
9:00 – Family Guy (7.33 million)
9:00 – American Dad (5.88 million)
Yet another break around the corner for the show. The next episode ‘How The Test Was Won’ airs March 1st.
Well… it’s at least better.
Well, there goes my complaint about FOX not advertising.
Maybe it is just because people are bored with The Simpsons now sadly.
i think the hd and new oppening sequence was good and the eppisode was much better then “lisa the drama queen”. the episode would of had more ratings if it wasnt for that mid season break. hopefully the simpsons ratings will go up soon. i think there might not be many more seasons of the simpsons, and if these ratings carrie on like this i think this could be the last season. i found this one realy funny and i’ll give the episode an 8/10.
well i thought that that episode was great it was funny and well made. the HD is great and i think that more people need to watch it. it was way better then their last episode which i thought was one of the worst. i give this simpsons episode a solid 8.5/10
It’s goo they increased the ratings abit, you can’t expect it to have the same ratings as it did in the 90’s but I’d say around 7 million would be comfortabley solid.
However unless my eyes decieve me did they just say ANOTHER break, what is this madness, if a show doesn’t air consistently then people will not get into the habit of watching it!
I’ve seen this episode today, and according to me, this episode even deserved more viewers than 6.8 millions, but it’s better than ratings from last episodes, so I hope that things will go on even better for the show! 🙂
This episode was one of the worst episodes ever. I’m sad to say it but the simpsons have gone downhill so bad. Every episode is just random crap now compared to the old episodes that were funny and intriguing.
just my 2 cents.
