I really thought it would get better ratings than that. I really enjoyed this episode. I felt like it had quite a few elements of the show’s golden years in it as well.
I felt like it decent, but if I was watching it as a new fan or someone that wasn’t already a die-hard fan, I would think it was pretty lame. When they have an episode that’s supposed to be critiquing political situations (the border wall), it’d be better if it was more recent (the border wall started a few years ago already). Also, it was not very edgy at all.
It was a good episode, The rating is very bad but the good is that is the 2 most watched on FOX.
i thoght it was great. suprised at the ratings. i laughed my ass off.
i must admit, i missed it for the survivor season finale
I really enjoyed this episode. I actually think that this last season has been the best in the last four or five years. There have been a lot of great episodes this year and really no episodes that I absolutely can’t watch (like That 90’s Show!). Hopefully they keep it up next year!
I have a question: For some reason, the show hasn’t been letterboxed for the last 2 weeks and I’ve noticed parts where there are clearly things being cut off the side of the screen. Is this just my local Fox station that is doing this or has this been a national thing?
An enjoyable episode with some classic elements. It felt a little like the Simpsons Movie with the Springfield-wide storyline, but there were a fair few ordinary gags. I did love the Chief Wiggum moments though!
This was undoubtedly the best episode in this season, and it really deserved to be the last one in the season.
Generally, this season was, by my opinion, much better then the last season (plots, gags, guests and everything else), but number of viewers is very bad…
I hope that next season gonna bring us even better episodes, and that number of viewers will be much, much bigger, as it used to be in a old days.
I agree Nicolas. I have enjoyed this season a lot. I had been put off new episodes from the Simpsons for a while, but now I can be excited about them again, despite a few bad eggs in there.
From an artistic point of view, I have really enjoyed watching the HD episodes and the Simpsons-Movie-style artwork in the shows.
Do you think Fox will cancel The Simpsons? The end is near my friends.
@Abuchawo – Not a chance. Merch is bringing in $$$ so can’t see it happening
also, to abuchawo, they got renewed for 2 more seasons, so they’re safe till then.
Homerica episode is kinnda strange ,but as a Norwegian i was glad to see they had a lot of facts right this time. Exept every word was used as if it was swedish. It id as different as canadien and texan.
But the list Marge got at the hospital was hilarious. “shot in the head”
And the biggest sport in Norway is NOT wintersports like ski jump, but soccer and handball.
fun facts
@Norwegian boy- Don’t be so disappointed with the way Your country has been presented in the show, because most of the facts probably were collected from internet pages about Norway, and You can’t always rely on that kind of information…
However, countries in Europe are so, so far from US, and all of them seem so little comparing with giant States, so mistakes can be forgiven… 🙂
No reason to be disappointed with how Norway was portraited, found it hillarious! They did a pretty good job collecting facts and making referances, many of ’em I think went over the head of the non-Norwegian viewers, so kudos to the writers for a well performed job.
Anyone up for a cag of Aquavit?
I’m from Australia, so I’ve seen my country represented poorly by the Simpsons too! Pretty funny though.
Aussies always secretly laugh at how little Americans really know about us, so we can’t complain really.
@bobby – not neccisarily. Could technically get out of the contract but I would assume that would end up in a legal battle which i’m sure neither lot want.
@gaulty-potentially but i doubt they would. why would they want to cut their own show short 2 years?
I don’t think that anyone who is involved in producing The Simpsons Show wants to get out of contract, and stop making show. Who would voluntarily give away chance to earn some extra money on making another two seasons? At the other hand, if FOX wants to cut out the Simpsons, they’ll do it with out problems, but luckily that moment hasn’t come, yet…
> missed it for the survivor season finale
Over here, it was preempted by the 3-hour survivor finale, and I was just lucky to catch 1/2 of it on a different day, when I was flipping around looking for something to watch. Of course the ratings will be lower, if it isn’t where and when we expect it to be. What next… move it to Wednesdays at 3:00am and cancel it because there’s only 5 people watching (the rest are asleep) ???
I’m maybe little late with this, but I’ve actually seen season finale today. It’s really great episode, with great animation and very nice story line. Plot is great, and classic Simpsons gags are really on top.
I don’t actually see why are people making such a big deal about the quality of the Simspons today? Show is better then ever, but ratings hit the bottom…
I think that our expectations about the show are very high, and actually people don’t know what they want from show! They expect something innovative, something great, but don’t really know what that might be…
I’m really generally satisfied with the 20th season, and I just hope that quality of the next seasons will remain on this level.
USA! USA! USA! AMERICA + HOMERICA ROCKS HOMIES! Seriously, i fear the show will be canceled like King of the Hill 🙁 after the contract expires
The New Simpson shows are mindless, incompetency and insanity.
Older shows had humor and were realistic.
