Airs tonight at 8.00pm!
Lisa discovers an amazing talent for doing crossword puzzles, and with a little practice becomes an expert cruciverbalist. She enters the citywide crossword puzzle tournament, but is crushed when she finds out that Homer bet against her in the championship match.
Homer proves his love for Lisa with a little help from New York Times crossword puzzle editor Will Shortz (guest voice as himself, R) and master crossword constructor Merl Reagle (guest voice as himself, L).
i must say the ending was soo sweet, i could have cried. lol jokes.
What does R and L mean, plus didn’t WHN post on this.
R and L means left and right, as in, that’s where they’re pictured in the promo.
And yes you did post here but I did not approve it. I would like you to shorten your username or at least spell formerly correctly.
I thought R and L meant left and right but wasn’t sure if were right and wasn’t sure what it standed for so..thanks.
Your spelling looks correct but is it different in Britain eg. Color and Colour? Gaulty, please.
Thx again,
WHN
Britain and Australia share the same spelling and trust me, in nobody’s language is formerly spelt ‘foremly’
Lol yeah, it’s spelt like that everywhere.
Taken it out, save the confusion hey?
ur both wrong, im from england and its spelled Formally!!
atleast thats what it says in the concise oxford dictionary!
Try again. Formally is a different word derived from the word ‘formal’ while formerly is derived from ‘former’.
Yea Nesquik, that’s a completely different word. By the way get a life (one which doesn’t include reading the dictionary).
Thats kind of ironic..i mean if you read a dictionary in the first place, wouldnt you know how to spell “formerly”? 😛
Yea. I’d think that theid have online dictionary – mean as how big this WWW is.
Shut up! Jokes. What’s with all the Abuse!!!I was trying to fool you with my smartness and manipulate you into being stupid because I’m cleverer than you. Because the two words sound the same and if the dictionary isn’t for reading then what else is it there for wiping your bum? And I didn’t say I read it I looked a word up! Now aren’t we supposed to be talking about the greatest show on earth!!?!?!?!?!?!?
The Simpsons….. sooo what did everyone think of the episode?!
Sorry dude, but saying the wrong word doesn’t make you look that clever.
We are supposed to be talking about Homer & Lisa Exchange Cross Words.
Missualenous stuff & missuleous OFF stuff should be talken about in https://www.lardlad.com/news/discussion
It was a pretty good episode, but they are starting to waste their guests. Will Shortz and Merle Reagle each only had about 1 line. I think it would be better if they tried to work them into the episode a little more, like the Mel Gibson/Mr. Smith Goes to Washington episode. Otherwise it was a good episode though.
