The Simpsons has seen its share of record breaking. But the road to 500 episodes clinched another record: the most original musical scores ever composed for a primetime series. Alf Clausen, the show’s music composer, has openly credited Matt Groening with insisting on real musicians and a real orchestra. Clausen has composed 483 of the 500 scores.
The Simpsons’ equally talented Music Editor Chris Ledesma has calculated some impressive statistics… nearly 29,000 music “takes” or recordings so far!
While it’s not hard to find whines and negative comments about the show online, you can be sure that none of them ever criticize the quality of the music on this show.
