The Simpsons “Best. 20 Years. Ever.,” celebration will culminate in January of next year with a documentary special entitled “The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special in 3D on Ice” airing on Thursday, January 14th, the 20th anniversary of the series’ debut.
The special will document how the world sees The Simpsons and how the Simpson family has seen the world for two decades. It will be directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, star of “Super Size Me” and “30 Days”.
“When they first called me about this, I thought it was a prank and I hung up,” said Spurlock. “And then my agent called back and said, ‘No, no, this is for real,’ at which point I fainted. Then when I woke up, I called everyone I knew because it was the coolest thing I could ever get to do in my career.”
Note that this special is neither in 3D nor on ice.
They are also looking for real life Simpsons. Check this out:

Awesome title. Any idea how long it will be?
is this gonna be on tv or…
This is surely one of the greatest things they’ve ever done in their 20-years-long history.
I just hope that they will do it on the same professional level as they’ve been making show for all this years, and if they do it, it will be total success! 🙂
Title reminds me of something Peter Kay did not so long ago.
Sounds pretty awesome, shall be looking forward to it massively
@ jake
he said it’ll be “AIRING on Thursday, January 14,” so yeah, it sounds like it will be on tv.
Awesome! I can’t wait for this!!!!!
haha, i’m an extra for this!!!
its an hour long… do i need 3d glasses?
Why is it considered their 20th aanniversay when it is there 21st season, somebody please explain
@Justin – Cos the show first aired (in its normal half hour slot) in 1989. The way things work mean that this is season 21.
Hey everybody, please watch this special, and tell all your friends to watch this special!!!
I am Brazilian and I really do not care about the episode of the simpsons in Brazil because I know they are critical to the whole world did not care then, until I found really funny (okay they exaggerated a little) but Homer is kidnapped, mice painted women and various other things are funny and saw no reason to so many people resent this because they just did comedy and criticize themselves for this nonsense to think most Brazilians feeling offended, my sister even got a little but soon she also realized that it’s just a joke, “the only thing I think would offend the same q but was censored (by Fox Brazil) was in an episode when Bart said that Brazil was the worst place he ever been ( then the writers took heavy) but otherwise okay. (Sorry if I wrote some things wrong is that I do not know English very well)
20 years ? Really good show, I love Simpsons.
