No, that is not a typo. While Season Twelve of The Simpsons was released last month, it appears that Fox are keen to go back to a two-per-year release plan by rushing a release of The Complete Twentieth Season, possibly in time for Christmas 2009. The news was confirmed after Amazon added the title yesterday and KFC unveiled a Season 20 DVD giveaway promotion in conjunction with The Simpsons Ride.

Simpsons Ride Opens At Universal Orlando
The Simpsons Ride officially opened Thursday at the Universal Orlando Resort in Florida. Riders are swept into Krustyland, Krusty the Clown’s new theme park, just as maniacal Sideshow Bob escapes from prison and takes control of the park to exact his revenge on Krusty and the Simpson family. Hand-picked by Krusty to be the first to ride his newest attraction, you are thrust into the middle of the action.
“I take with all due sense of mission and humility the opportunity to spray water and spritz baby powder at Universal patrons,” Simpsons executive producer James L. Brooks said in a statement. “For 20 years I’ve been dreaming about this, and here it is – a wild, thrilling Simpsons Ride put together by a huge number of talented artists and amusement-park maniacs,” added creator Matt Groening.

Simpsons Movie Ride Confirmed?
Back in July last year we spoke of rumors of a Simpsons Movie themed ride. More rumors have been flying around courteousy of LA Weekly, revealing the Simpsons ride will be called “Travel with Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie” and it will be the same kind of ride as Back to the Future. That is, the ride will be a motion simulated ride in which visitors board a stationary “car” that shifts in conjunction with the camera movements of an animated film projected onto a screen. The brain will process the coordinated movements so as to trick the viewer into thinking they are actually in transit.

Simpsons Movie Ride In The Works?
Rumours are circulating among Back To The Future fans that the ride at Universal Studios in Orlando based on the movie will close down at the end of the summer to be tweaked and reused as an all new movie themed ride for 2007.
Sources close to theme park website ‘Screamscape’ tell them that a new Simpsons themed ride was confirmed to be the replacement for Back To The Future. This has apparently been a very hush-hush project in the works for a while now (much like the Simpson’s film) and the two companies are said to be working on big plans to connect the hype for the film and new ride next summer. News is only sketchy at the moment, but keep your eyes on Screamscape, who are investigating the issue at great length.
