Glenn Whipp of LA Daily News speaks to series creators Matt Groening, James L. Brooks, and Al Jean as well as myself in order to piece together The Simpsons Movie.

Groening, Brooks, Jean Talk Simpsons Movie
Not even threats of visits by Sideshow Bob or Fat Tony could wheedle many details of the upcoming “The Simpsons Movie” out of the series’ powers that be. Specifics remain as closely guarded as the identity of the state in which Springfield is located. “I can’t really tell you much,” said director David Silverman, “other than the Simpsons will be in it. Springfield will be in it; it’s not being shot in Vancouver. Very few animals were hurt in the shooting of this film

Here’s the one you’ve all been waiting for! The official trailer for The Simpsons Movie!

Simpsons Movie Sneak Peek Tonight
Update: APOLOGIES that the sneak peak link did not eventuate. The preview goes to air shortly so we’ll have the video for you soon.
The highly anticipated trailer for the Hollywood adaptation of The Simpsons TV series has been scheduled to debut on Fox. Fans of The Simpsons will get their first peek at the film version of the perennial TV favorite when Fox airs the trailer during tonight’s episode of the show.
Harry Shearer says it’s amazing we’re getting to see anything, considering the tight security surrounding the film. The movie has a code name, so only the cast knows which soundstage they’re recording their lines in. And once they finish a scene, those script pages are shredded.
The preview airs in North America during the episode tonight, and in Australia, viewers can catch it several hours later, immediately following Futurama at 7.30pm Monday on Ten. We’ll bring you an online version via our front page as soon as it becomes available, so come back if you miss it!

Simpsons Movie Ride In The Works?
Rumours are circulating among Back To The Future fans that the ride at Universal Studios in Orlando based on the movie will close down at the end of the summer to be tweaked and reused as an all new movie themed ride for 2007.
Sources close to theme park website ‘Screamscape’ tell them that a new Simpsons themed ride was confirmed to be the replacement for Back To The Future. This has apparently been a very hush-hush project in the works for a while now (much like the Simpson’s film) and the two companies are said to be working on big plans to connect the hype for the film and new ride next summer. News is only sketchy at the moment, but keep your eyes on Screamscape, who are investigating the issue at great length.

All Units Mustered For Simpsons Movie
In the months before 20th Century Fox launches its big-screen version of “The Simpsons” next year, parent company News Corp. plans to muster every part of its entertainment empire to promote the film, president and chief operating officer Peter Chernin said Tuesday.
In so doing, News Corp. will maximize the marketing muscle of its various divisions while allowing them to benefit from the halo effect of the popular cartoon franchise, Chernin explained.
Chernin said News Corp. held a three-hour meeting last week with about 40 executives from across the company to discuss broader strategies related to the film’s release. By looking for synergies within the company, Chernin told investors that News Corp. could win several hundred million dollars in incremental revenue from the “Simpsons” film during the next couple of years.
Fox unveiled the July 27, 2007, release date of “The Simpsons Movie” on March 31 via an animated 28-second teaser debuted before screenings of Fox’s “Ice Age: The Meltdown.”
It was Brooks’ idea that a surprise teaser would be a better way of announcing the film than using a conventional news announcement.
