New Episode: Little Big Girl
When Lisa struggles to find excitement and intrigue in her family heritage for a school presentation, she decides to take creative license in crafting her heritage as a Native American, since its only for a school project. What begins as an innocent embellishment quickly turns into a web of lies when Lisa is chosen to represent the school, and her people, at City Hall, and then as a keynote speaker for the National Native American Tribal Council. As a reward for his heroic act, Bart is granted a drivers license, and in an attempt to escape endless family errands and chauffeuring he flees to a faraway town where he is romanced by an older teenage girl, Darcy (guest voice Natalie Portman) whose expectations may prove to be too much for Bart.

New Episode: The Wife Aquatic
While watching a home movie, Marge becomes depressed as she is reminded of memorable childhood vacations spent at Barnacle Bay. Hating to see Marge sad, Homer and the kids take her on a surprise trip to the bay, only to discover that it has turned into a rundown mess due to the absence of fish. Meanwhile, Homer is forced to work on a fishing vessel that’s threatened by a huge storm. Homer and the kids lovingly give the boardwalk a whole new makeover for Marge. But when Homer accidentally lights the renovated carousal on fire, stirring up an angry mob of townspeople, more than just waves come crashing down.

Ratings: Kill Gil (Volumes I And II)
A slight imprvement in ratings this week, with 8.96 million viewers tuning in to the Christmas special “Kill Gil (Volumes I and II).” Fox came in fourth overall for the night, but placed second amongst the key adult 18 – 49 demographic. At 8pm, The Simpsons and American Dad (7.48 million) were placed fourth, behind the Survivor: Cook Islands finale, Sunday Night Football, and The Santa Clause 2. A new episode of Family Guy at 9 scored 8.81 million viewers. New episodes of The Simpsons return on January 7.

New Episode: Kill Gil (Volumes I And II)
The Simpsons are stuck with an unwanted house guest after they open their home to Gil for the Christmas holidays. After a full year, an attempt at getting him a job and many failed “accidents,” Marge finally grows a backbone and throws Gil out on Christmas Eve. Meanwhile, Bart abstains from sweets for a year, and Lisa keeps her promise of putting on a musical in her brothers honor.

Ratings: The Haw-Hawed Couple
Fans online hailed it the best episode yet this season, but only 8.29 million viewers tuned in to watch Sunday’s new episode “The Haw-Hawed Couple.” This marks it the least watched episode for Season 18, behind Jazzy And The Pussycats (8.94 million). Comparatively, The Italian Bob which aired this time last year had 10.39 million viewers.
NBC won the night with its Sunday Night Football, followed by CBS, ABC and then FOX in fourth, a pattern which was replicated in the 18 – 49 age demographic. At 8pm, The Simpsons was beat by Football, the finale of The Amazing Race, and Home Edition, while a new episode of American Dad following the show scored 7.13 million viewers.
