Ratings: My Fair Laddy

A total of 9.51 million viewers tuned in to Sunday’s new episode ‘My Fair Laddy’, despite the competition. NBC’s coverage of the 2006 Winter Olympics closing ceremonies on Sunday night (Feb. 26) were the lowest rated among the adults 18-49 demo and in total viewers since the introduction of Nielsen People Meters in 1988. NBC, with a 3.5 rating on the night in 18-49 finished third, overall, behind ABC and Fox. Worse for the network, its Olympics coverage finished fourth out of five networks at 8 p.m., garnering a 3.4 rating in the demo, behind The Simpsons.

Promo Card: Homer Simpson, This Is Your Wife!

Fox have released two new promo cards. One for The Seemingly Never Ending Story (pictured in our schedule column) and the other for the long awaited episode Homer Simpson: This Is Your Wife. The picture shows Ricky Gervais’ character in full color animated form which we’ve yet to have a glimpse of. Both episodes air this month, with The Seemingly Never Ending Story coming up next Sunday.

New Episode: My Fair Laddy

– Airs Tonight!
The Simpsons open up their home to Groundskeeper Willie after Bart accidentally destroys his house. But soon after his arrival, Willie’s poor manners become the focus of a bet between Bart and Lisa, as she takes on the challenge of turning him into a proper gentleman. Meanwhile, Homer rips his favorite blue pants and starts an ambitious advertising campaign to reestablish the discontinued garment

Promo Card: My Fair Laddy

There’s still a month’s wait until the next new Simpsons material on Fox due to them holding back episodes while the Olympics take hold of the ratings. But Fox today have wet our appetites with a promotional image of My Fair Laddy, a Willie-focused episode which is set to air on February 26th. We’ll give you details of the episode closer to its airing but for now here’s the pic.

Ratings: We’re On The Road To D’ohwhere

Sunday’s new episode of The Simpsons scored a total of 9.04 million viewers at 8:00pm, giving “We’re On The Road To D’ohwhere” the lowest figures this season (previously 9.8 million; Christmas Stories and Girl Who Slept Too Little). The figures remain relatively stable though, as there hasn’t been any huge dropoffs yet.

The Simpsons and The War At Home were in fourth place at 8pm, and so was the FOX network overall for the night. In the key 18 – 49 demographic, the network’s lineup boosted them to second place. Family Guy had 9.12 million viewers at 9 — the first time it has beat The Simpsons this season, while American Dad even edged close with 8.21 million.

New Episode: We’re On The Road To D’ohwhere

– Airs Sunday!
After a huge break, The Simpsons returns this Sunday with an all new episode — before taking on another huge month long break.

After Bart steals the key for the school’s steam tunnels and triggers and explosion that destroys Principal Skinner’s car, Marge and Homer send him to a “behavior modification camp.” Homer is forced to cancel his much-anticipated trip to Las Vegas in order to drive Bart to the camp, but on the way there, Homer decides it’s a great time to bond with Bart.

Ratings: Homer’s Paternity Coot

A total of 10.1 million viewers watched Sunday’s episode Homer’s Paternity Coot. At 8:00pm, The Simpsons was in third place behind CBS’s Cold Case and ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. In the cartoon war, 8.2 million viewers tuned in at 9pm for Family Guy and 7 million for American Dad. Two Simpsons reruns at 7:00pm came fourth in their slot.

Overall for the night, winners were CBS, ABC, NBC, with FOX lurking behind in fourth place. FOX did manage to come third amongst viewers 18-49, behind ABC and CBS.

New Episode: Homer’s Paternity Coot

– Airs Tonight!
Marge’s objections to the new toll road system somehow leads to the discovery of a frozen mailman and his 40-year-old mail. The letters are returned to the rightful recipients, including one to Grandpa Simpson’s deceased wife, revealing a secret love affair and the real father of her baby, Homer. Confused and emotional, Homer finds Mason Fairbanks (Michael York), his wealthy and much improved paternal dad, and happily establishes a father-son relationship with him while rejecting his surrogate father of 40 years. But soon Homer realizes that a DNA test doesn’t necessarily tell who his true father is.

Ratings: Simpsons Christmas Stories

Numbers were down slightly for Simpsons Christmas Stories, the newest episode of The Simpsons which aired on Sunday. 9.8 million viewers in total watched the episode, equalling this season’s lowest audience which was also reached with The Girl Who Slept Too Little. This shows however that there isn’t a great deal of difference from week to week this year.

While a low rating episode, the show managed to come second at 8:00pm, behind only Cold Case on CBS. For FOX, the lineup was enough to give them first place for the night amongst adults 18 – 49, and second in overall viewers, again beaten by CBS. These results reflect the omission of ABCs big guns Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy from this weeks schedule.

New Episode: Simpsons Christmas Stories

– Airs Tonight!
The First D’oh-el – When Reverend Lovejoy’s car breaks down, Homer takes over the sermon and gives his version of the birth of Christ, featuring Joseph (Homer), Mary (Marge) and the evil King Herod (Burns).
I Saw Grampa Cussing Santa Claus – Grampa’s out to exact his revenge on Father Christmas. During the war, Grampa and his gunner, Burns, were shot down and stranded on an island. They thought Santa was an enemy aircraft and shot down his sleigh.
The Nutcracker… Sweet – The people of Springfield go about their Christmas days, to the tune of the Nutcracker. Moe attempts suicide, Marge struggles to make Christmas dinner and Homer frantically searches for Marge’s gift.

Ratings: The Italian Bob

A total of 10.39 million viewers tuned in to the new episode ‘The Italian Bob’ to watch Sideshow Bob’s latest antics. The episodes figures held strong against CBS’ always strong finale of Survivor: Guatemala which won the night for the network with 21.3 million viewers. Fox came in fourth place overall for the night but third place amongst adults 18 – 49. At 8pm, The Simpsons was fourth behind Survivor, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and The West Wing. A Family Guy rerun scored 8.4 million viewers at 9pm.

New Episode: The Italian Bob

– Airs Tonight!
After Mr. Burns crashes his Stutz Bearcat, he sends Homer and the family off to Italy to pick up his new fancy sport car. While on their Italian adventure, the Simpsons end up stranded in a small Italian village where a rehabilitated Sideshow Bob reigns as mayor. Sideshow Bob impresses the Simpsons enough so that they keep his sordid past a secret until one of the family members, in a wine-induced state, spills the beans.
