CBS Wins Sunday Ratings
The two-hour finale of “Survivor: The Amazon” gave CBS a runaway victory on Sunday night, both overall and among the advertiser-coveted younger set. CBS averaged a 10.5 rating/18 share in primetime, nearly four points ahead of second-place NBC, 6.7/11. FOX, 4.7/8, edged ABC, 4.5/8, for third place. Among adults 18-49, CBS led with a 7.0 rating. FOX avergaged 3.9, NBC 3.4 and ABC 2.5. CBS began the night with “60 Minutes,” 8.1/16. NBC was second with “Dateline,” 4.0/8. ABC aired the movie “E.T.” (4.5/8 average from 7 to 10 p.m.), while FOX averaged 3.7/7 with a rerun of “The Simpsons” and “King of the Hill.” At 8 p.m., the first hour of “Survivor” scored a 10.8/18. FOX moved up to second with “The Simpsons,” 5.7/10, and “Malcolm in the Middle,” 5.4/9.

Ratings: Old Yeller Belly
The overnight rankings for the Old Yeller Belly and I’m Spelling As Fast As I Can double have been posted by Zap2it, and it’s a similar result to last week. “The first hour of CBS’ Lucille Ball biopic opened strongly with an 8.2/13. ABC was second with the special ‘Tim Allen Presents: A User’s Guide to Home Improvement,’ which constructed a 6.6/11. FOX was third with a new episode of ‘The Simpsons’ (6.3/11) and a repeat of the yellow family (6.6/11).” Again, the rerun rated higher than the new episode. With this occuring last week as well as in February for the 300th episode double, could Fox be looking at moving The Simpsons to 8:30pm? Probably not, but always a possibility.

Ratings: Dude, Where’s My Ranch? // Barting Over Rerun
Sunday’s double shot of The Simpsons with Dude, Where’s My Ranch? at 8pm and a rerun of Barting Over at 8:30pm has recorded some interesting figures in the Zap2it overnight ratings report. “At 8pm, the second part of the “Touched by an Angel” finale won with an 8.8/15. FOX was second with a new episode of “The Simpsons” (6.7/11) and a repeat of the yellow family (7.1/11), coming in just ahead of the finale part of ABC’s “Eloise at the Plaza.” On NBC, “American Dreams” was fourth with a 5.0/8.” It seems that the 8:30 rerun rated better than the new episode. It will be interesting to see if similar events happen in the coming weeks.
Update: CalendarLive confirms the rerun (12.4 million) outrated the new episode (11.71), coming in at 27th and 34th place respectively for the week.

How The Three Gays Rated
Overnight ratings for last night’s episode Three Gays Of The Condo have just been released by Zap2It. “FOX won the night in the demographic of adults 18-49. CBS was able to hold on at 8 p.m. with the “60 Minutes” carry-over and the season finale of “My Big Fat Greek Life,” which continued its ratings slide with a 6.7/11. FOX was second with a new episode of “The Simpsons” (6.1/10) and a new “Oliver Beene” (5.0/8). “American Dreams” averaged a 5.3/9 for NBC, staying well ahead of the end of “Dr. Doolittle.”
Update: Calendar Live’s weekly Nielsen report shows that “The Simpsons” finished #19 for the week with 12.02 million viewers. In comparison, “My Big Fat Greek Life” came in at #32 with 10.46 million.

‘Scuse Me. Here’s The Ratings
The overnight ratings for the episode ‘Scuse Me While I Miss The Sky are in. “CBS stayed strong at 8 p.m. with quality results for “My Big Fat Greek Life” (8.9/14) and, to a lesser extent, “Becker” (6.2/9). On NBC, “American Dreams” was second with a 6.3/10. FOX was narrowly third for the hour with the combined efforts of “The Simpsons” (6.6/10) and “Oliver Beene” (5.3/8). ABC with fourth with the conclusion of “Disney’s The Kid.” On The WB, “Charmed” scored a 4.7/7.” So it wasn’t the best week in the ratings, but at least the show fared better than Mike Scully’s “The Pitts”. Fox came fourth in the 9pm hour which was comprised of the premiere of this show, as well as an episode of “Malcolm In The Middle”. You can rate and review the new Simpsons episode here in the “Bash Mike Scully” forum at the No Mods Club.

C. E. D’oh! Ratings Are In
Much of the same continued in the Sunday ratings this week, with the only notable difference being that NBC came out on top for the night. “At 8 p.m., CBS stayed in the lead with the comedy pair of “My Big Fat Greek Life,” which continued its minor ratings ebb at 8.4/13, followed by the 7.4/11 brought in by “Becker.” A new episode of “The Simpsons” in which Homer took ownership of the power plant scored a 7.4/12 and was followed by a decent showing for “Oliver Beene” (6.5/10) to give FOX second for the hour. With a 6.2/10, NBC’s “American Dreams” was third, followed by ABC’s conclusion of “The Emperor’s New Groove.” On The WB, “Charmed” conjured up a 2.9/4. Read More >>>

Ratings Pattern Continues
Last week saw new CBS series “My Big Fat Greek Life” triumph over The Simpsons in the national ratings. This week was much of the same. While both “My Big Fat Greek Life” (9.0/14) and “Becker” (8.0/12) were down from last week, both still held on to their half hours. FOX was again second with a new episode of “The Simpsons” (7.8/12) in which Krusty was elected to congress; while the heavily touted premiere of “Oliver Beene” scored a decent 7.2/11 opening. NBC was third with “American Dreams” earning a 5.7/9, followed by the conclusion of “Tarzan” on ABC. “Charmed” brought in a 3.1/5 on The WB. Read More >>>

Big Fat Greek Ratings Win
CBS took a gamble this week by moving its new show “My Big Fat Greek Life” to 8pm Sundays, to compete against The Simpsons. So how did the shows fare? The gamble paid off in its first week, as The Simpsons ratings were a far cry from a fortnight earlier in which it celebrated its 300th episode. “CBS took 8 p.m. thanks to the strong ‘premiere’ of My Big Fat Greek Life. After a strong debut after Everybody Loves Raymond on Monday night, the Nia Vardalos sitcom showed legs with a 10.6/16, boosting ratings for Becker, 8.6/13, as well. FOX finished second with two episodes of The Simpsons. The new episode, ‘A Star Is Born-Again’ with guest voice Helen Fielding, scored a 7.7/12, while a repeat landed a 7.4/11.” Still, second place isn’t bad, nor is it a new position for The Simpsons to be in. But with a new show, nobody can be too sure what is to come in future weeks.

FOX Wins Sweeps For The 1st Time Ever
“Fox Television on Wednesday claimed its first victory ever in the battle for young adult viewers in the crucial ratings sweeps season and vowed to bring back the reality hit centered on a working man posing as a millionaire that powered the upset. The network which began the year in last place in ratings said it had devised a way to reprise the blockbuster ‘Joe Millionaire,’ in which a group of women competed for the affections of a hunky construction worker posing as the heir to a $50 million fortune. Fox also gained considerable ratings mileage from the second edition of its talent contest show ‘American Idol,’ and from its long-running animated family sitcom ‘The Simpsons.'” Read More >>>

Joe, Simpsons Boost Fox
Fox has had it’s best start to the year and it has a few names to thank. American Idol, Joe Millionaire, the Bundy’s, and ah yes, how could I forget, The Simpsons. Monday night’s two hour Joe Millionaire finale gave Fox its highest-rated night ever with entertainment programs, ousting the Michael Jackson hype on competing stations. The jaw-dropping stats come in the wake of Fox’s boffo Sunday night performance with the 300th episode of The Simpsons and as the network celebrates an amazing two-month transformation from fourth to first place in the ratings. Something tells us Fox isn’t going to stop there, with more big lineup shows and Joe Millionaire 2 in the works. Read More >>>
