Viva Los Simpsons is back on the net after being hacked last week. D’oheth! has been given a nice new design. Christmas decorations and specials have appeared at Last Exit To Springfield, The Simpsons Gallery, Hitchhikers Guide To Springfield, and Just D’oh It.

LMS Is A Sweetie Pie
Little Miss Springfield has lost her flashy clothes and has gone for a more creative and modern look. The site, which is one of the best character dedications on the web, contains a new design which is consistant throughout, using lighter shades of color. All of the same content that you know and have come to love is still there.

It’s Officially Unofficial
New sites are rolling in at the moment. The latest site which opened yesterday is simply titled The Simpsons: An Unofficial Site. Combining the efforts of Matty from The Simpsons Halloween Special Site and Chris from Duff’N Pretzels, “The Simpsons” contains an official-site-esque design and the best content from both of the sites. So far the site is only 50% complete, but it’s bound to get better as soon as more content is added.

Destination: Homerize.com
Another Simpsons website rises from the grave today. The long awaited return of Destination: Springfield has arrived. The site is now hosted at the domain ‘homerize.com’ and sports a brand new design/color scheme. For those who haven’t seen the site before, it focuses mainly on images. That includes pics, framegrabs, scenes, color-ins, and wallpaper. Good to see sites opening rather than closing lately.

New Site Looking Decent
A new site called Springfield A&M has opened. This site provides both multimedia and informative content, and their design is quite unique. Although there is not much content there currently, the owner says there is much to come. This site looks very promising in my eyes, and is very much needed due to all of the current sites closing their doors due to C&D’s and loss of interest.

HGS Is Back!
A Hitchhiker’s Guide to Springfield returns to the web after a short absence at a new URL, roundspringfield.com. The site moved domains to elude the FOX lawyers, after changing names not that long ago because of a C&D they had receieved. They continue their excellence with a big staff, innovative multimedia, and daily updates.

Viva, Viva, Las Simpsons!
Planet Hype and The Simpsons Oddyssey are back on the net as one megasite known as Viva Los Simpsons. The site’s design is like a cross between the two sites and all of its content has been merged, creating many sections filled with all the best information and multimedia. Glad to see sites opening rather than closing. This one will be a hit. Check it out.

Dead Leaves On The Dirty Ground
One of the longest surviving Simpsons sites that shaped the community has joined the stack of sites closing recently. The Simpsons Tree is no more, with a number of factors attributing to its closure. Nate is too tired to continue with the site, and as well a number of character sites are closing, thus leaving not much to link (a similar circumstance that occured with us). The site may reopen if the community picks up pace in the forseeable future.

Calling For A New Design
One piece of news from earlier this week which I couldn’t let go un-noticed is the redesign of Call Of The Simpsons. This german fansite is celebrating its third year online with the excellent new look and a large content update. While I cannot read the german site I can see this is one with a lot to offer, and I have added it to the random link rotation on the right.

Powersauce Just Got More Amazing!
Eye On Springfield is back after being hit by Fox last month. The site is now housed at powersauce.com, previously home to Behind The Laughter. As if the old design wasn’t good enough, the site has been redesigned and it’s just as good! Like never before seen, the site uses several light colour shades in a compact layout reminiscent of a music-type site. The header can be changed by clicking an image, and several information boxes have been implemented nicely. Better than ever before, check it out!

Closing The Simpsons Folder
Another old site is added to the ‘offline/shut down’ pile today, with The Simpsons Folder being forced off their domain by its owner; who stressed that he was no longer interested in paying the bills. “You have eight days left”. With no other immediate options, Jukka has closed the site and it will cease to exist early next month. “I have no clue when it will be back again, if ever”. Lets hope this isn’t the case. We’ll give you further details if it arrives.
