The media seems to have taken the week off, but the websites are delivering changes before the year’s end. Four redesigns have occured in the past week, of course, one of them being us. Thanks for all the positive feedback. Other changes have occured at Just D’oh It, which has redesigned to celebrate its second birthday. D’oheth has turned four, and has also been given a makeover. Finally, the compact A Little Slice Of Springfield has changed to a single-page format and has adopted a little more ‘festive’ color. Great improvements all around.

Eye On Simpsons Sites
Here’s your latest web news. Eye On Springfield has returned after a lengthy absence from the net. The site features some new content and an original new design which is like nothing ever seen before in the community. Great to see it back! Seven Forty-Two and That’s Unpossible have also been redesigned. Good job all around. Check out new additions to our Random Link rotation by clicking the tab title.

This Week In Web News
From the maker of Beyond Blunderdome comes The Simpsons Site Critic, a website which reports about changes in websites and critiques them. I’ve had a bit of a laugh from the updates already there, so it succeeds in entertaining and reporting the news. Springfield Weekly has changed its color scheme today, but basically kept the same design as last time. An improvement, nonetheless. Homerpalooza has been redesigned, and is now much easier to use. A Home For Lenny has received its first activity since July last year, in the form of a new design. It looks quite similar to the last.

Battle Of The Bart Sites
Bart Simpson Dedication has been relaunched this week, with a bright new design to lift the mood of the site. Since its re-release, it has undergone a number of changes but looks great as it is today. The site’s competition has also undergone a makeover. Bart: The One And Only has been cleaned and freshened up with a new look which is an improvement over before.

LETS Report The Webnews
Last Exit To Springfield was redesigned today, after being offline for just half a day. The new design is completely different than before, featuring a Springfield road, which is very fitting with the title. The site has incorporated flash elements to make it more compact, while the interiors have their own design which has similar elements to before. This is the first major change since October 2001.

Groening Visits The Archive
An Argentinian newspaper has spoken to Matt Groening on the wake of 300 episodes. The article reveals that when stuck for ideas or when needing to refresh their memories, the creators of the show turn to Simpsons fan sites. Groening mentions The Simpsons Archive by name in this following excerpt, translated by none other than the snpp.com staff. “Sometimes we have to look at fan sites to remember [what we have done before]: one of the best is www.snpp.com. I have no idea what those initials mean, but it has a lot of stuff. Though for them, every episode is the worst ever.” Maybe a quote to show the people at Fox, huh? Congratulations to The Simpsons Archive, and hello to Matt Groening.. because you just never know who is visiting your website!

‘Hit And Run’ Hits The Web
A brand new dedication to the upcoming multi-platform Simpsons game ‘Hit And Run’ has been put online. While residing at simpsonshitandrun.com, the site is unofficial, but does its job in informing you of the latest news and screenshots for this much aniticpated new game. It is bound to get bigger leading up to the release of the game, but the information available is more than enough for now.

No More Simpsons Folder
If you’ve visited The Simpsons Folder recently, you’d have noticed at first a photo of a locked door, followed by a ‘not found’ page, and now a 403 ‘forbidden’ error. I spoke to Jukka, seven-year owner of the page and he informed me that the site would not be returning. A number of factors are involved, but the closure is mainly due to personal reasons involving life. It’s a shame to see this once-huge website disappear without a trace, but that’s the way of evolution. Jukka has left the building.
There’s a new site online called The Blunder Years. Shows some promise but could do with some work.

A Little Slice Of Maggied
What’s happening around the net? Read on and I’ll tell you. Springfield Message Board today has been given a new color scheme and graphics, which are similar to that of a few years ago and The Simpsons Top 100. A brand new site titled A Little Slice Of Springfield has opened, focusing on pictures in the form of grabpics, wallpapers, and scenes. Meanwhile, Seven Forty-Two has been redesigned and tweaked based on user feedback, but currently looks nice as a whole.

Saxiness On The Web
Here’s what’s happening around the web! German fansite Sax On The Beach has been redesigned. Very crowded, but very nice all the same. Springfield Town Hall, a new site from one of the people behind Viva Los Simpsons has opened. Fills the void left by the defunt site quite nicely. The Simpsons: Unofficial Fansite is currently down for retooling. Insert Caption Here has moved to Just D’oh It. Simpsons Realities, That’s Unpossible, and Bart: The One And Only all have received new designs, while Springfield! Springfield! has been shut down by its owner. We couldn’t fit this into any other web update, but Destination: Springfield was slightly redesigned a couple of weeks ago.

Captions, Feedbags, & Toons
Since we’re on a bit of a news drought, here’s the latest in what’s happening around the net: Springfield Weekly and it’s sub-site Insert Caption Here have both received new designs. Uncle Moe’s Family Feedbag is back online after several months downtime. Ferg’s Simpsons Dedication has a great new flash design. Toons Exposed has opened. The site used to be The Simpsons Network but has now expanded to include other cartoons.

Simpsons Top 100 Back Online
After disappearing from the net due to scheduled maintenance a couple of weeks ago, The Simpsons Top 100 is back online with a new look, exactly a year since the previous version was released. The new look was made to remove integration with the Springfield Message Board. If you were a member before, you will have to sign up again to their new login system. A list update is not ready just yet, one will arrive in the coming weeks. Check it out.
