The long awaited new Simpsons episode (they’re all long awaited now) Mommie Beerest finally goes to air tonight, beginning a three week new-episode run before it’s shafted for Independence Day on February 27th. In tonight’s new episode, “When Moe’s Tavern is shut down by the health department, Homer refinances the house to save the bar. Infuriated by this, Marge decides to protect her investment and takes an active, hands-on role as Moe’s partner. Marge gives the bar a facelift and boosts the clientele, while Homer has to stay home and play Mr. Mom. Meanwhile, Moe begins to develop deep feelings for his new partner.” A rerun of Fat Man And Little Boy also airs at 9:30pm. No Homers Club will have episode discussion following the airing.

You’ve waited patiently for over a month, but finally the early season break has ended with a new episode, Midnight Rx, airing tonight. When Mr. Burns terminates the employee prescription drug program, the citizens of Springfield are no longer able to afford their very expensive but much-needed prescription drugs. In order to keep the town medicated, Homer, Grampa, Apu and Flanders travel to Canada to buy the drugs with fake Canadian health care cards. When they are caught smuggling the goods, all of Springfield rallies around them to fight for their freedom. It’s the first new episode of the year, and you’ll have to wait until January 30th for the next one. We’ll bring you the ratings for Midnight Rx on Monday as always, and don’t forget you can discuss the episode following the show at No Homers Club.

After tonight you wont be seeing a new episode of The Simpsons until at least January 9th next year. Fox will be showing a series of reruns and for the first week of 2005 the show will be pre-empted for a double episode of 24. So you’ll be a fool to miss out on tonight’s new episode titled ‘Fat Man And Little Boy’. When Bart loses his last baby tooth, his solution to his “ten-year-old’s midlife crisis” is to start writing slogans on T-shirts, and soon he’s a gag T-shirt salesman, much to the dismay of Homer, who thinks that with Bart bringing in income, Homer is no longer needed. This episode will see Eric Idle reprise his role of Declan Desmond, who proved popular when he appeared in Season 14’s ‘Scuse Me While I Miss The Sky’. We’ll see how this episode fares in the ratings against still competition including Survivor tomorrow.

After a one week absence, Season 16 returns to Fox tonight with the fourth episode titled She Used To Be My Girl. It’s another Marge themed episode (that’s three in a row). Here’s Fox’s press release: “Marge runs into her former high school pal Chloe Talbot (guest star Kim Cattrall), who is now a famous newscaster. Chloe is cultured, sharp-dressed and has a successful career on television. While Lisa has become enamored with Chloe’s worldliness, Marge becomes jealous and wonders if she made the right decision by choosing family over a career”. After this one there’s only one new episode left until 2005. It seems Fox is stretching the season out with a rerun and an Arrested Development episode to end the year. As usual tonights episode can be discussed at No Homers Club following the episode.

We’re down to the third episode of Season 16 already. Tonight’s episode is titled Sleeping With The Enemy, another holdover from the Season 15 production run and one we’ve known the details of for over a year now. Here’s the description pieced together by various sources. “Feeling unappreciated by her own children, Marge takes in neglected son and Springfield Elementary School bully Nelson Muntz. Horrified his tormentor is now living under the same roof, Bart goes on a mission to find Nelson’s parents and reunite the Muntzes. Meanwhile, Lisa lets schoolyard teasing get to her physically when she starts to think the Simpsons weight problem is making its mark on her.” As usual you can discuss the episode at its conclusion at No Homers Club and we’ll bring you the ratings tomorrow.

Despite last week’s airing of Treehouse Of Horror XV, Fox is labelling tonight’s episode “All’s Fair In Oven War” the official Season 16 premiere. The episode airs across North America tonight. Here’s a brief description thanks to snpp.com: “Thomas Pynchon and James Caan guest voice as themselves as Marge won’t let a little thing like “not cheating” prevent her from winning a baking contest; Bart takes up a “swinging bachelor” lifestyle after finding Homer’s discarded “Playdude” magazines”. The episode can be discussed at the No Homers Club immediately following the episode, and we’ll have the ratings for you in the next couple of days. Don’t miss it!

The annual climb into the “Treehouse” is much anticipated by “Simpsons” fans because it lets the writers spoof their way through parts of our social and literary fabric they don’t normally tear into. And it lets the writers abuse the characters much more than they normally do. After all, when was the last time Bart was an official ingredient of someone’s barf? When before did Bart actually underplay in order to be Lisa’s sidekick? And how were we to know Marge looked so hot in a bikini? First up is “The Ned Zone,” a takeoff on “The Dead Zone,” where a guy can see a person’s future, but that future is not set in stone. Here, Simpsons’ neighbor Ned Flanders’ ability to see one’s fate is set off by an accident. He sees Homer’s doom – and Ned is responsible! Can fate be altered? “The Belly of the Boss” is a takeoff on “Fantastic Voyage,” with Marge filling (and nicely, we might add) the Raquel Welch role. If you thought last year’s Super Bowl half-time extravaganza was wild, see what happens when Homer is running the show! In The Simpsons post-Super Bowl XXXIX episode, “Homer and Ned’s Hail Mary Pass” airing Sunday, Feb. 6, after Homer inadvertently performs a wild crowd-pleasing dance at a local carnival, he is hired by several prolific sports figures including LeBron James, Warren Sapp, Yao Ming and Michelle Kwan, guest-starring as themselves, to choreograph their victory dances. After his dances prove successful, Homer is tapped to choreograph the Super Bowl halftime show. Panicked the night before the event, Homer enlists the help of his neighbor, Ned Flanders, and together they put on a non-violent, deeply meaningful halftime show that America chastises for its blatant display of decency.

By the end of tonight, Season 15 will be over. While some might talk of the decline in quality, this season’s final episode titled Fraudcast News sounds like one of the better ones. Homer causes an avalanche that buries Mr. Burns. He makes it back to his mansion, only to turn on his TV and hear Kent Brockman refer to him as a greedy tycoon, so he vows to “change this town’s accurate impression of me.” As he buys every news business in town, he runs up against Lisa, who has started a newspaper. Lisa’s example inspires many of the residents of Springfield to start their own newspapers. “Instead of one big-shot controlling all the media,” Homer says, “now there’s a thousand freaks Xeroxing their worthless opinions.” It’s the last new episode until November, so don’t miss it!

The Simpsons ratings will be put to the test tonight with the second-to-last episode of Season 15 airing on Fox. Its competition is nothing that should leave the show with a figure similar to last weeks disappointing effort. The episode titled Bart-Mangled Banner hasn’t shown huge promise in description and previews, but as last week displayed, a good episode doesn’t necessarily mean good ratings. In the episode, Bart really is a victim of circumstance when he appears to moon the flag, but Marge’s defense of him paints the whole family as un-American and they are thrown in jail. A repeat of The Wandering Juvie airs soon after at the special time of 9:30pm this week. Keep those figures up, don’t miss The Simpsons tonight.

Here’s a rundown of what to expect in tonight’s episode titled “The Way We Weren’t”. “When Homer admits that Marge was not his first kiss, he recounts the story of his first smooch at summer camp with an anonymous girl ? who turns out to be Marge! Following their first kiss, young Homer and Marge planned to meet again, but Homer accidentally returned to the wrong camp and wound up at Camp Flab-Away ? a fat camp for young boys. Marge admits to Homer that believing her first kiss had stood her up caused her 30 years of heartbreak. But soon they discover something from their past that proves their love was destined.” It’s a flashback episode with promise, followed by a rerun of “Marge Vs. Singles, Seniors, Childless Couples and Teens and Gays.” You don’t want to miss it.
