An official episode synopsis for the 2nd episode of the 21st season of The Simpsons has been released by Fox, entitled “Bart Gets a ‘Z'”. The episode airs on October 4th.
When Mrs. Krabappel confiscates student’s cell phones, the class, organized by Bart, decides to teach her a lesson by spiking her coffee and watching her make a drunken fool of herself. Principal Skinner fires Mrs. Krabappel and replaces her with a cool new teacher, Zachary Vaughn, who impresses Bart and his friends with a hip attitude and love of texting, blogging and using Twitter and Facebook. Torn by his affection for Mr. Vaughn, yet plagued by guilt, Bart makes his way to Skinner’s office to tell him the truth and get Mrs. Krabappel’s job back.
wow…. seriously???? The teacher using Twitter and facebook..?! The simpsons are embarassing themselves.
whats wrong with teachers using Twitter and facebook? Simpsons Rock!!
??? Yeah, there’s nothing wrong with The Simpsons evolving with the trends of the time. If they didn’t, they’d still be watching VHS tapes and the first Bush would be president. It’s The Simpsons; it would take a lot more than this to “embarass themselves!”
I’m with Faris and Fliz. Ryan, could you take a minute to explain your comment?
Ryan clearly thinks that the Simpsons shouldn’t put everything modern, new from pop-culture in their show.
I think that one of the key elements of the success for the Simpsons is actually their modern view of the world. They are always neck and neck withe everything new, even sometimes step in front, so I see nothing wrong with putting this new internet marvels in the show.
We already had i-pods in the show, x-boxes, 3G mobile phones, so why shouldn’t we see Twitter and Facebook, one of the iconic symbols of the last two years…
i think u should put the simpsons at 6:00 pm on the computer to watch every night and its for free.
thats all
dont you find it weird how they have cell phones, facebook and that but they’ve still got a 21inch full screen tv from the 1980’s?
well, if you watch it properly they actually have a flat screen something.. so they have updated it.
Haven’t we seen the same exact episode a few years back but with Lisa instead??
Something just doesn’t sit right with me when cartoon characters have mobile phones and laptops and depict social networks.
Simpsons went down the shitter ten years ago anyway, though.
how is it the same episode? do you mean the one with the substitute? cause thats not the same story line.
greattttt simpsons rock…i belive this season wiil be much better than the last 2 seasons
ugh , this episode sounds TERRIBLE.
i love the simpsons and all, but i think this season is gonna break the “lowest rated
episode” record more then a few times
plus: reply to matt c:
they got rid of that t.v., they have a HD plasma screen in the credits
this episode is similar to Sweet Seymour Skinner’s Baadasssss song. makes me think the simpsons are running out of ideas.
This episode looks great. I will definitely watch this.
I wish it was as funny as before. I am like the biggest fan of the Simpsons that I know of. I just keep watching hoping it will be as funny
as back in the day, but it usually just isn’t. Sometimes they do get it right and there’s an awesome episode, but it isn’t consistently funny, like it use to be, as much as I truly wish it was.
It has to be better than “Homer the whopper”.
I am too annoyed with the whole modern thing just because the simpsons rarely used to rely on modern trends to create story lines. They just had good writers that would come up with plots that were timeless.
You watch a simpsons episode from the 90s, and you can still associate it with the present times. When they add modern things like facebook and twitter, maybe even within 3 years we’ll look back and it wont be relevant. So this is why I too kind of roll my eyes with the story line.
The plot sounded fine until i read the facebook and twitter part. Hopefully they don’t over do it.
Who does the voice for the substitute teacher, Zachary Vaughn?
ryan bring it on put down the simpsons one more time and you’ll get a bloddy nose
What is the music that zack is playing on his speakers when he first appears?
