Kind of odd they get it months before we do. Has that always been the case?
No. It’s usually the other way around.
There were many delays holding up the release of Season 14 on DVD/Blu Ray (in all countries). Because of delays this time, the US gets it last.
I have all the episode already but Am still going to buy this on Blu-ray.
Any word on which Treehouse of Horror Episodes were included on the Blu Ray bonus disc?
Is the packaging better or is it the same cardboard crap they’ve been using since season 11?
No Idea! Personally, I like the new boxes (less packaging and less plastic) and much better than the plastic heads which were hard to fit on a regular old shelf. Now you can get the limited edition heads, but they come right off the box. I’ve got a Krusty head on my bookcase, as well as Ralph. 🙂
I like the heads, I only have Ralph right now though. I didn’t know at first that they came off so I got the regular versions for seasons 11 and 12. I’m going to get the collector editions when I can find them super cheap for the Krusty and Comic Book Guy Heads.
I like the look of the new packaging just fine, less plastic is nice and all I suppose. Its just that those cardboard slots were scratching up my discs so I had to make covers for each one out of sandwich bags to protect them. I’m going to have to get a binder or something eventually to store all the discs.
Plastic may be bad for the environment but its quite good at keeping a DVD in good shape. Bring back the plastic cases, to hell with the planet I say.
ouch! yeah scratching of discs is never good.
That hasn’t happened to mine yet. Some of my season 2-5 discs are starting to get a few little scratches on them I’ve noticed though. I think that happens mostly in taking them in and out of the plastic you sort of have to press the disc into.
And I don’t even think they are making DVD cases at all anymore with that heavy plastic where you press the discs into it. Something about if you drop the case it’s easier for them to break inside it or to get loose and then get scratched up against the plastic or for a piece of the plastic to break off. I know I’ve experienced that before when opening a DVD and the plastic was broken and disc was loose and just sliding around.
Oh well.
I forgot about Comic Book Guy. I have his head too…somewhere.
You should do what I did and buy a 100 pack of jewel cases from amazon.com for your DVD’s and Blu-Ray’s, that come in those annoying cardboard cases…..
