Simpsons fans turned away from trilogy episode ‘The Wettest Stories Ever Told’ this weekend. The episode held just 7.04 million viewers, the lowest-rated episode in two years and second lowest rating on record behind 6.2 million for Season 15’s The Way We Weren’t. While generally not regarded by fans as a popular episode, the content of The Wettest Stories may not have been responsible for its viewer turn-off as ratings have always moderately decreased towards the end of the season in the last few years. The Simpsons was in fouth place overall at 8:00pm but among adults was the most watched show in the timeslot, so there isn’t too much cause for alarm.
