A total of 4.99 million viewers watched new episode ‘The Great Simpsina’ on Sunday April 10 — a new record low for the show.
- “The Great Simpsina” (season 22) – 4.99 million

Of course, bad ratings does not measure the quality of the episode, so you may rate the episode with the poll below:

OUCH!
doesn’t help that I absolutely hated this episode as well, haha.
Ha I have to agree you loved the episode can’t believe so many people in the world didnt
You know, I think ratings systems should take into account the number of people who watch the show online in the following week. I rarely catch live TV anymore, and I almost always watch Sunday’s Simpsons episode on the Fox website. I’m sure the ratings decline is partially due to a changing audience and a perceived decline in quality, but I think we’re seeing record lows because there are so many ways to watch TV now.
I agree about watching TV online, the networks should change how they rate viewer ship of TV but I disagree about decline in quality. I think the show is just as good as it was 22 years ago and the animation is better then it ever was in all its HD quality. As for the episode we are talking about, I thought this episode was the best in this season that has been a great season so far IMHO.
I didn’t mean to bring up the quality debate. I myself don’t think there has been a real decline in quality; I said “perceived decline in quality” because the notion is out there, and is affecting viewership.
It has been a well known fact, and even many of the voice actors for the Simpsons (I think it was Harry Shearer) have said that the recent shows have been the worst; the Simpsons peaked at season 9 and the quality has declined severely since. Of course, the graphics are better.
I have never heard the voice actors say any thing of the sort, in the end it is all a matter of opinion. and my opinion is the show hasn’t changed the fans have become more jaded and bitter like the comic book store guy.
I really don’t understand the ratings.this episode was without any doubt the best epiaode of this season!!
If any one here can name me a show/cartoon that is better then Futurama and the simpsons then I would eat crow. But if you name shows like the family guy, south park, and bobs burgers then I wont take you seriously because those shows cant even shine futurama’s and the Simpson’s shoes. I would rather watch a mediocre episode of Futurama or the Simpson’s then anything else on TV. In all the 22 years of the Simpson’s I haven’t seen a really bad episode yet, I even liked the African Safari episode, the kill the alligator and run episode, and the episode where homer joins a grunge band. The only other shows I really like are True Blood and Curb Enthusiasm. So please some one tell me what shows are better then the shows I have mentioned?
Oh and I defended the Simpsons as such a great show too back in the day. I know of plenty of bad episodes. Guess you never watched the “Bart Mangled Banner?”
I have seen every episode and yes I enjoyed Bart Mangled Banner! stop trying to pass your opinion off as fact everybody feels different some people like apples some peoples like oranges, If everybody liked the same thing wouldn’t the world be a boring place? AGAIN I WILL REITERATE if it is difficult for you to comprehend I HAVE SEEN EVERY EPISODE OF THE SIMPSON’S IN THE PAST 22 YEARS, PLUS THE MOVIE AND I HAVENT BEEN DISAPPOINTED YET. Are we clear on this? By the way I have plenty of friends and relatives that still love The Simpson’s. The Internet communities that we are a part of like the Simpsons channel .com and the no homers .net are not reality, most Simpson’s fans don’t talk in chat forums and they are not as harsh or mean spirited as people on the Internet. most fans That I no or run into on a day to day basis still enjoy the show, so get your facts straight.
Nothing beat the Simpsons from Seasons 1-10. But from 11 on its hard to find many classic episodes. These new episodes are pathetic compared to the old Simpsons. There is no doubt there is a decline in the Simpsons, honestly how can there not be a bad episode over 22 years? Matt Groening would probably admit to a bad episode or 2. I used to defend the Simpsons like you until like season 16 were i couldnt stand it anymore. The storylines and jokes are nothing compared to the old Simpsons. The show must end, in my opinion the legacy of the Simpsons has been harmed by all these new shitty episodes. There are probably more bad episodes than good ones now in my opinion. The show needs to end, ad i also like Futurama but they should have not brought it back the new episodes so far are pretty dumb.
Also King of the Hill and South Park are almost as good as the Simpsons, and if the Simpsons keep throwing out random crappy episodes they will be better
Try using IMO, AKA “in my opinion” Also King Of The Hill was great but it is currently not on the air they, already had there series finale. And King Of The Hill as good as it is was never quite as good as The Simpson’s IMO, AS for south park it was good ten years ago IMHO….
i watch this and it was amazing!!!!!!!
Haha new episodes of the Simpsons don’t even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Family Guy or South Park. Ratings are foreshadowing the end.
If you hate the new Simpsons why are you talking in a Simpson’s episode forum? I would think with your love of the family guy and south park you would be on there Message boards. You failed to bring up the other show I mentioned “Futurama” you don’t actually think family guy and south park are better then futurama? Let me ask you a question what did you think of the episode of the family guy when the whole family puked there brains out for 10 minutes or more? If you thought that was comic genius then I would call out your Integrity as an amateur cartoon critic, fan or what ever you pride your self as, may be a troll.
