The Simpsons ratings were down about 20% from last week’s 350th episode double, still scoring a solid figure of 9.2 million viewers over the course of the hour in which the episodes A Star Is Torn and Thank God It’s Doomsday aired. At 9pm, Fox showed it made the right decision on bringing back Family Guy, the second episode for the fourth season, although down on last week, scored 9.7 million viewers. The show has outrated The Simpsons in the last two weeks. American Dad at 9:30 had just 18% of its Family Guy lead in tuning out, 8.2 million people tuning in overall. ABC ran home with the win for the night boosted by Desperate Housewives, while CBS’s Elvis special kept the network in second place. NBC came in third, while FOX was a distant fourth. The new Sunday lineup did cement FOX as the #2 network for the night among adults 18 – 49.
