Two promotional images have been released for Sunday March 21st’s new episode, “Stealing First Base”.
Lisa’s classmates ostracize her for being an overachiever but the First Lady Michelle Obama (guest voice Angela Bassett) comes to Lisa’s defense. Meanwhile, Bart’s crush Nikki (guest voice Sarah Silverman) sends him mixed signals when she surprises him with a kiss.
I really want to know more details about Lisa´s Plot…
Somebody knows wich one is the Subplot?
so this isnt about baseball? 🙁
No it looks like 1st base in this case is kissing not baseball
I really don’t need to watch the Simpsons fawning over political figures. Either make fun of her like you’ve done with everyone from Gerald Ford to Bill Clinton or keep her off the show.
I agree with you 100%.
AMEN!!!!!!
Two weeks in a row that an episode title isn’t a parody of something else? Blimey.
Well it’s not really voiced by Michelle Obama, so hopefully they’ll poke some fun at her.
looks like another boring episode . Why can’t the simpson writers look at past episodes for inspiration.sigh..
And then fans would say- “Here they are, repeating themselves all over again, they don’t have anything new to offer”.
And when they try to offer something new, fans aren’t pleased with stories that they see.
There is serious lack of communication between fans and show executors. If they only try to hear our voice, they would realize that show is going nowhere…
Otherwise, show will ruin the remaining of their old glory, and within 2-3 years, there won’t be enough viewers to keep the show floating.
You say that, but you could probably put a DVD together of Bart having crushes.
True. If I can mention Family Guy without someone biting my head off, the show’s execs actually listen to the fans. They check out the message boards and fan sites.
You’ll also see fan recommendations and issues cropping up in later episodes, which is nice.
“And then fans would say- “Here they are, repeating themselves all over again, they don’t have anything new to offer”.”
Nope, that wouldn’t be the case. The Simpsons were doing great until maybe season 12 or 13 hit, then the show started to decline. Nobody complained about rehashed ideas (mind you there weren’t as many as there are now). So what has The Simpsons done now that they haven’t already done? Besides buthering the characters.
The problem with The Simpsons now is nobody is the same. Bart isn’t the same character. Homer isn’t, Marge isn’t. Lisa is in the middle. I’ve seen countless new episodes where they’ve done HUNDREDS of things out of character. Homer patting Ned on the shoulders after he saw him with Marge, what on earth was that about? The old Homer would never react like that. Bart isn’t even half the trouble maker he used to be, the fact that he defends so many things is ridiculous, he’s turned into Lisa. God. I’ll just stop here. People who are observant have realized these things. People who don’t look at detail think the show is still the same.
I doubt they’ll be making fun of Michelle Obama because she’s friends with the actress voicing her, Angela Bassett. I dont see The First Lady’s friend taking a part that would be too detrimental to her character. They could tease about her strong arms though and it’d still be funny. Maybe have her lift up a Presidential limo with one arm. 🙂
Can’t wait, shame we have to wait a while
Looks great! I’ve been really impressed with this season. Love getting them on iTunes.
this looks cool
Why do they always have to come up with new characters, i would rather see older characters like: Herb powell, Birch burlow, francine, and other’s
Probably because the voice actors of those don’t want to do it or are unavailable, and it also adds a bit of freshness, whereas repeating characters will see it, as mentioned before, showing the series is running out of ideas.
I think they should leave the old characters alone. Those were the glory days of The Simpsons.
True, those truly were the great years for the simpsons.
i think this season justs gets bettr
i think its gunna be a gud 1although there shud be sum bigger storys like wen who shot mr burns aired
I LOVE THE SIMPSON,THE SIMPSON THE BESTS SERIES OF HISTORY,THE SIMPSON THE KINGS OF TV,MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER IS HOMER IS MY HERO.MY IDOLOS ARE HOMER,BART,LISA,MARGE,MAGGIE AND MATT GROENING,HAPPY 20 YEARS SIMPSON
Well hey, for all of you saying that The Simpsons isn’t as good anymore, that can’t be true because I’m 15 and I started watching it around 2 years ago and now I’m a HUGE fan. Although I have to agree, after watching countless episodes, I see how much better the older ones were.
But hey, the newest episodes, “Postcards from the Wedge” which aired last night was actually really good, I found myself literally LOLing quite a few times. And I think the writers ARE starting to listen to the fans more; like when Bart was watching Pokemon and wondered how “the show managed to stay so fresh”, I guess they were poking fun at themselves for getting stale (not the first time they’ve done that either)
My point basically is that I think this season is going to get better as it goes along, and The Simpsons is still definitely drawing in fans.
It is true. The Simpsons isn’t even a quarter what it used to be. If the Simpsons is drawing in fans it’s because a sucker is born every minute (babies keep coming, kids get older). So of course the show will have new fans, fans who don’t know what to compare the show to because they didn’t grow up during its golden years. They are satisfied with the way it is now because they weren’t around back then. I’m sure some who have seen the older episodes more regularly agree it used to be better but still love the newer ones. I believe most people who love the newer ones just love them because they are fanboys/brainwashed/young and like it because it’s The Simpsons they are used to watching (since they were introduced to the newer episodes as opposed to the older ones). Here’s another thing. I’m sorry to sound like an ass but we live in an overpopulated world full of dummies, most of those dummies probably watch The Simpsons and love it.
Oops, sorry I meant “that aired a couple of nights ago”, sorry, feels like last night xD
Stealing First Base is a good concept but I have other things I would rather do then watch two streight male cartoons kiss. I’m sure people would wrather do something besides read about me complaining. I did like the Lisa story tho.
