Fox have released a promotional image for Sunday January 10th’s premiere of “Once Upon a Time in Springfield”, the milestone 450th episode of The Simpsons.
Krusty the Clown is forced to hire an actress named Princess Penelope for The Krusty the Clown Show to generate more young, female viewers. Krusty and Princess Penelope end up in a relationship.
Anne Hathaway will guest star in the episode as Princess Penelope. Krusty’s father Hyman Krustofski will also appear, and Jackie Mason will return to voice him. Eartha Kitt also recorded a role before her death in December 2008.
Note: The Simpsons will return from it’s mid-season break on January 3rd with the episode “Thursdays with Abie”:
Grampa is sitting on a bench waiting for his family when a thoughtful-looking man named Marshall Goldman approaches him and asks to hear about his life. Grampa tells Goldman about the time he was on a World War II battleship, which was hit by an enemy torpedo, and Goldman, a human-interest columnist, publishes it in The Springfield Shopper. Later, Grampa meets Mitch Albom (guest-voicing as himself) and shares another story with Goldman for a follow-up article. Homer becomes jealous of Grampa’s newfound fame and seeks a surrogate father. But when Homer discovers a draft of Goldman’s third story, he must race to find Grampa before it is published and his life is changed forever.
although its advertised as #450 its really not, its 451, for some reason the “Best 20 Years Ever” campaign tends to ignore the simpsons first episode “Simpsons Roasting Over an Open Fire” calling jan. 14 2010 the 20th aneversary of the simpsons when the actual milestone would have been dec. 17 2009. (jan 14 2010 is 20 years after the second episode, Bart the Genius)
The thursdays with abie episode sounds good; but the krusty episode sounds a little meh for me.
@robert, i agree.
boring
I am really looking forward to the Krusty episode with Jackie Mason returning as Krusty’s father. He’s great! I don’t know how people can determine how an episode will be “boring” or “meh” based on a five sentence description where 3 of the sentences are not even about the plot.
I’ll watch and judge it after I see it. It’s more fun that way – at least for me. I’m enjoying the Season so far and brining back Krusty’s dad should be great. I hope he has a part as big as his other episode.
I’m dumb. So I give this episode a 10/10. Long live Steve Irwin!
