The 21st season will begin on September 27th, 2009 at 8:00pm with “Homer The Whopper”. Comic Book Guy casts Homer as the lead in “Everyman,” a feature film based on the new comic book superhero he created. To whip him into shape for the part, the movie studio hires celebrity fitness trainer Lyle McCarthy but Homer has trouble sticking to his new, healthy regimen.

The Simpsons Season 12 Out Now
The Complete Twelfth Season DVD has been released today in the United States and Canada. Retailing at $31.99 at Amazon, the set is also available in a Comic Book Guy head version for slightly cheaper.

Futurama Casting Drama Over!
Futurama fans can breathe a big sigh of relief as there will be no need to recast the show. The creators of the series say they are thrilled the animated show’s five original voice actors have agreed to stay on. Matt Groening and David X. Cohen praised the new deals reached by 20th Century Fox TV and series cast members John DiMaggio, Billy West, Katey Sagal, Maurice LaMarche and Tress MacNeille.

The Simpsons Try Curling
Homer and Marge will visit Canada to enter the winter olympics this year in the upcoming 21st season of The Simpsons. One of the show’s writers, Rob LaZebnik, has revealed the storyline will revolve around the formation of a mixed-doubles team including Principal Skinner and his mother.

The Simpsons Desktop App
Coming soon from the official Simpsons website is a new desktop application celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Simpsons. The app allows users to send “virtual pranks” to one another’s computers.

Aftermath: Futurama at Comic Con
In a disappointing turn of events, the Futurama panel at Comic Con yesterday did nothing to curb fans’ fears concerning the future of the show and it’s original voice cast. The good news, however, is that plenty of new information regarding the new season beginning next year was revealed.

Simpsons Comic Con 2009 Rundown
The Simpsons cast got quite a surprise today at their Comic Con panel when a representative from the Guinness Book of World Records appeared on stage. He announced that The Simpsons is now the longest running sitcom in the world, displacing The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet which had 435 episodes. It was also announced that they now have the Guinness for the most Emmy’s for a single show.
The Simpsons and Futurama at Comic Con Tomorrow
Audience members of The Simpsons panel tomorrow at Comic Con 2009 can expect a sneak preview at the upcoming 20th Treehouse of Horror episode, “Treehouse of Horror XX”, along with further information regarding the 21st season of the show. Futurama will see representation at the convention also.

Futurama To Get Re-Cast?
When Futurama returns to TV next year, it might be without the show’s original voice cast. Talks have broken down between 20th Century Fox TV and stars Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Maurice LaMarche and Tress MacNeille over how much they should be paid to take part in the show. As a result, 20th has put out a casting call to find replacement voice actors for the show’s new season.
