Airing tonight in North America is ‘The Scorpion’s Tale’:
After a field trip to the desert, Lisa discovers that the desert water mysteriously makes typically combative creatures get along, so she brings some of the water home as a souvenir. When Grampa moves in with the family after getting kicked out of the retirement home, Homer secretly tests the desert water on Grampa, who is instantly cured of his crankiness. A pharmaceutical representative (Werner Herzog) gets word of Homer’s discovery and quickly tries to replicate the water into a drug, using Grampa as the primary guinea pig. But when the pills get in the wrong hands and are sold on the black market, unexpected side effects of the new drug take an eye-popping toll on the elderly citizens of Springfield, and the Simpsons learn that their new medical cure comes with major consequences. Also guest starring Jackie Mason as Rabbi Krustofski.
I always like Jackie Mason as Rabbi Krustofski.
This has got to be one of the best episodes in years that’s not to say I haven’t seen good episodes lately but this was classic season worthy. I had no problem with the eye popping out gag other then the fact that it was extremely gross, and to anyone wondering if it is possible for a persons eye to pop out like that, YES it is. My sister works as a scrub tech at an eye doctor and surgical center and one of the doctors was checking eye pressure and the young women who was getting her eye pressure checked had her eye popped out just like in the episode the doctor reassured the women that nothing had happened and quietly and quickly popped her eye back in. Totally true story my sister witnessed the whole thing.
I will never look at another person’s eyes the same way again!
Amazing episode!! Easily in the Top 5 best Episodes of this season 22. I love the scene where Homer calls Walter, Willy Wonka 🙂 And I’m not sure but was the scene where Bart gets into a suitcase and moves toward a bus a reference to pixars Walle? Anyway, I simply loved the start of the episode.
Hey Adam, It’s me the most important person in your life posting again. Since you haven’t posted it as of 3/9/11 at 6:30pm Eastern Standard Time, the episode The Scorpion’s Tale received a 2.8/8 in the 18-49 share, and 6.20 million viewers. I would have posted this sooner if the site had been accessible since the ratings were posted online. I’m sure you would have posted this earlier if the viewership would have been 5.5 or below. I’m sure you’ll post something in a few days with a date that implies you posted it much earlier.
You’re consistent, at least, in that manner.
Norman – If you don’t like the site don’t bother using this web site you should focus on things that interest you like Justin Bieber, bobs burger and the life time network.
what’s a Bieber? ….
Dear Leolucca,
I love The Simpsons and I used to love this site. While The Simpsons has maintained an insanely high quality over the years, this site has not. I come here periodically (more sporadically of late) to try to get news and tidbits.
I’ve actually not seen Bob’s Burgers. Any good?
Then go to http://www.nohomers.com or some other site. I actualy like this website and as has already been said the guy that runs this website “Adam” had a death in the family give him time to get his $ hit straightened out. BOBS BURGERS IS THE WORST SHOW ON TV. One last thing Norman no one is pulling your leg and forcing you to use this website, If you dont like it there are over a hundred other websites to choose from so either quit complaining or move along compadre.
Bob’s burgers has had some great episodes, funnier than current simpsons.
Not in my opinion. I cant stand bobs burgers It is to crude, the voice actors are annoyingly grating and make me want to pull my hair out and jump off a cliff, the animation is $h it, the constant ZOOM IN zoom out with the camera is really annoying, and I hate the fart jokes. I have been watching the Simpsons from day one, “for 22 years” and I haven’t seen a bad episode yet, I even liked the widely hated and under rated African Safari episode and the Homer in a grunge band episode. IMHO the Simpsons and Futurama are the best shows on TV every other show on TV is horrible or just doesn’t compare. My favorite live action shows are True Blood and Curb Your Enthusiasm But those are the only live action shows on TV that I like. May be it is a generational gap thing I am 30, How old are you if you don’t mind me asking?
I have you beat Leolucca, I have been watching the Simpsons since the real day one, 24 years ago, since April of 1987 when they were born on the Tracy Ullman show. But I completely agree, best show ever. Period.
When the simpsons were on the Tracy Ulman show I was a little kid I am 30 so back in 1987 I was watching shows like transformers, Thunder cats, He Man, and other such shows. When fox first aired The Simpson’s Roasting On An Open Fire My family had just moved into a new house in a new town and we got a brand new TV so when the pilot aired my whole family gathered around the TV and we all watched and I was hooked for life. Then in 1999 when fox was showing promos for futurama I new it was going to be epic and boy was I right and like the simpsons I was hooked for life. Like the simpsons I have been watching futurama since the pilot so yes Saud-you have me beat Kudos to you and I hope you keep liking the simpsons and don’t let the negative people who claim to be fans but do nothing but pick on every episode since season 9.
THE SIMPSON’S AND FUTURAMA WILL LIVE FOREVER IF NOT FIGURATIVELY THEN IN SPIRIT, MIND, AND ALL OUR HEARTS, OH AND IN RERUNS.
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU….
My worst Simpsons fear was before they would finally make a Simpson’s movie, something would happen, a death of a cast member or something, and we would never see them on the big screen. So when they did finally make a movie, I saw it SIX times, just in case it doesn’t happen again.
Even if the Simpsons aren’t what they use to be, they have earned the right to exist forever and coast on their past reputation. Part of me wants to see it end so people could realize how good and magical the show really is/was. “Ohh, you are getting tired of Family Guy? Well, sorry, The Simpsons retired after 25 years and 500 episodes. Told you so.”
I was 11 in 1987 when the Simpsons first appeared, so around Bart’s age. And now, 35, almost Homer’s age, amazing. Just like a good friend, you never turn your back on them, may the Simpson’s live forever.
I totally agree with every thing you said. I also saw the Simpson’s movie multiple times and I Loved It every time and I still love it today. As for the show not being what it used to be I don’t think the show has changed much except for the fact that the Animation is better then it ever was, I think it is the fans that have changed. some of the Simpson’s fans have become bitter and jaded and have become like the comic book store guy. I also think that these Simpson’s sites are over run by kids, Im sorry I don’t take kids that were born between 1988 and after seriously. kids wouldn’t no a good show if there life depended on it. that could also be why some people don’t like the show they don’t get the jokes because they are written for adults not teenagers and young 20’s kids. but again I will reiterate, Saud – you hit the nail on the head with your post! MAY THE SIMPSON’S ALWAYS BE AROUND IN SOME FASHION TV,MOVIES OR TV SPECIALS…..
ok hasn’t there already been a “happy pill” introduced to the simpsons without eyes popping out of peoples head. Lisa took a pill called Ignorital in The Good, the Sad and the Drugly. So why did that German guy need Lisa’s pill to make old people tolerant and happy when Ignorital will have the same effect without eyes popping out.
Danny-That’s like saying if the pharmaceutical companies already have mood stabilizers like Paxil and Lithium why do they keep coming out with new ones every year. For that matter why are there like one hundred or a thousand different kinds of mood stabilizers on the market. the reason is there are a lot of depressed people in the world in my family alone two out of three sisters plus me are all on different kinds of anti depressants.
simpsons are bullshit!
What is the point of your post? I think the two best shows on tv are Futurama and The Simpsons IMHO. What is your favorite TV show and why is it better then the two Groening shows I have listed?
Can anybody let me know what theme music was running in the background when lisa was roaming in the desert.
