Springfield’s resident bully is getting a new voice, and it’s none other than comedy veteran Mo Collins! Entertainment Weekly dropped the exclusive that Collins will step into the role of Jimbo Jones, previously voiced by Pamela Hayden, starting with the episode “P.S. I Hate You,” airing April 13 on Fox.
Mo Collins is no stranger to making audiences laugh. She first stole the spotlight on MADtv in 1998. More recently, she’s best known as the sassy Pawnee newscaster Joan Callamezzo on Parks and Recreation and as Sarah Rabinowitz on Fear the Walking Dead.
Collins isn’t new to the voice acting game either. She’s lent her talents to animated hits like King of the Hill, Family Guy, American Dad, F Is for Family, and Invader Zim. With that kind of resume, taking on Jimbo Jones feels like a natural fit. Her debut in “P.S. I Hate You” promises to bring a fresh yet faithful take on Springfield’s resident troublemaker.
Pamela Hayden, who voiced Jimbo, Milhouse, and a slew of other characters from Season 2 to Season 35, announced her retirement in November. In a heartfelt statement, she called her time on The Simpsons an “honor and a joy,” reflecting on the show’s wit and groundbreaking legacy. While Collins is stepping in for Jimbo, fans will have to wait a bit longer for news on Milhouse’s new voice.
