He may be the first black president of the United States, but Barack Obama could make yet more history by becoming the first US president to lend his voice to The Simpsons.
Al Jean and James L. Brooks, executive producers behind The Simpsons, are hoping President Obama will agree to lend his voice to an episode of the series. “We’d love to have Barack on the show,” said Jean. “No president has agreed to do it yet but we’ll keep asking.”
While there hasn’t been an actualy US president on the show as of yet (George W Bush and Bill Clinton were imitated by voice actors), former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has appeared as himself, and former Vice President Al Gore has been included in Matt Groening’s Futurama.
Wat about Former President George Bush SENIOR?
WOW
When he could appears in Amazing Spider-Man, I am sure that he will lend his voice for this show. Clinton and Bush were in the show, but they haven’t gave their voice, and this is great opportunity for Obama to make some history with Simpsons! 😀
I am also curios about the way creative team will draw Obama, although they have big way experience with drawing famous fox.
I am starting to hate Al Jean and James L. Brooks. I have a feeling this guys greed has been bringing the Simpsons down.
I also think Obama should not make an appearance. Obama should dedicate to his work, and stop making TV spots to raise his popularity, or making people forget what he is really supposed to do.
Besides, the Simpsons work the same way cartoons in newspapers when it comes to politics. It is about criticizing them. What is Obama supposed to do? Just look pretty. That will be so lame and boring because I haven’t seen the greatness in Obama yet.
Judy, why would James L Brooks be blamed here? As the producer, he only has so many things he needs to do, he’s not responsible for running the show. I mean, just listening to Brooks talk about the show, and his time when help running, he sounds more dedicated than Matt Groening ever did. His comments about the work he did on the movie proves he’s the missing link in the show nowadays, somebody whose dedicated to work ethic and demands the very best out of his voice actors and writers.
Al Jean is the problem with the show, he talks about it like it’s nothing, the way he casually talks about this show sometimes, he’s got no passion at all in his words. But we all know how much the community despises Al Jean, I just can’t wait till they find a new executive producer.
At least, there is about 400 great episodes which I can watch again and again
I agree that Obama could make an apperance. What if Obama doesn’t guest star? That would make a disapointment for every simpsons fan.
I don’t ever remember George W. Bush being characterized on THE SIMPSONS. Just referenced.
I don’t know how I feel about this. If the country was in great shape then go ahead; but there are more important things for our President to focus on right now.
Nothing should stop him coming on, yes, the whole economics of the country may be plummeting to 0, but give the guy his free time. He’ll do this in his own time and I don’t think it will matter much impacting on his work in the White House.
Wasn’t he on a chat show not so long ago as well?
I think this is probably a stunt to boost low ratings. also, i’m getting tired of all the celebrities on the Simpsons now. I’m not trying to be rude, i’m just getting sick of it!
It is true. I feel the simpsons got carried away with celebrities, that the show just doesn’t feel as good as it should be.
Also many appearances from celebrities are lame. Just look at Ronaldiho (I don’t know ow to spell it and I don’t care). You can’t even know what the gags are about.
I could say that the best guest episodes are the ones with Barry White, and Michael Jackson.
The worst episodes the ones with Kim Basinger, Mel Gibson, or N Sync.
What do you think?
lol yeh the kim basinger one i dnt re-watch very often. surprises me actually im always first to slag off a celebrity but i dnt think homer needs do it for half the episode.
prove me wrong but i think obama isnt gona do it.
HA FAMILY GUY ONLY BEAT THE SIMPSONS BY 2 MILLION VIEWERS BECAUSE OF STAR TREK CHARACTERS.
THE SIMPSONS WOULD NEVER RESORT TO SUCH A CHEAP TRICK.
Ha, remember when the Simpsons DIDN’T try to be edgy and relevant? It just got on by itself?
Who is Barack Obama? Just kidding.
Cool.
I guess they don’t consider George Bush senior because he was just merely a former president. PFFT
amen derp! also, i know this is off topic, but family guy steals from the simpsons. if you watch the season 5 episode (simpsons) homer goes to college, and the season 4(?) episode of family guy “brian goes back to college” you notice surprising similarities. also, the family is pretty much a rip off as well.
at least he’s making miore history. that is too funny.
enough is enough. the president is not supposed to be an entertainer. the last thing he needs to do is to be a voiceover on the Simpsons. there is one episode i won’t watch. he and his family think they are soooo precious. people are in an uproar because they only care about him being “black” (he’s half white, folks, whether you like it or not) not what he can do for EVERYONE in this country. mind you, no one wants to face that he hangs around a bunch of America haters, and that he could care less himself about this country. i can’t wait until everyone sees that he will do nothing for us, and bring down America around our heads by allowing terrorists to walk all over us even more than before. i just keep shaking my head on how backward America has become. i just wish he WERE a good guy.
Barack Obama is not only a charismatic president but he is a very intelligent and smart person too. I congratulate him for winning a Nobel Peace Prize .
