After 16 years of dormancy, Last Exit To Springfield is back — completely rebuilt, reimagined, and relaunching as the internet’s last true Simpsons fan site of its kind. Version 12, codenamed the Colossal Donut Edition, has been eight years in the making — a labour of love and nostalgia from a long-time fan who just couldn’t let it fade into obscurity.
What’s new? Everything…
- A brand new, mobile-friendly design that holds up whether you’re on your phone or a 27″ monitor.
- 740 high-resolution, transparent Simpsons clip art images, many brand new and some remastered and upscaled from the original site.
- An all-in-one Episode Guide from Season 1 to 36, seamlessly combining episode details, sounds, screengrabs and promo cards in one user friendly repository.
- All new and remastered screengrabs for every single episode, including HD quality for the later seasons.
- 42 brand new high definition wallpapers, including the return of our annual Christmas collection.
- Streaming Ullman shorts and an even larger-than-before collection of Saturday Simpsons comics, lovingly re-scanned and preserved in digital format.
- Revamped Music and Video Game sections with a focus on interactive features.
- A refreshed News section with the complete 15-year “Simpsons Channel” archive – a preserved time capsule of news, commentary, and community from my long-defunct ‘sister’ website.
This isn’t a wiki. It’s not a content farm. It’s a handcrafted experience – each page deliberately different, built for fans to explore, enjoy, and rediscover the joy of browsing a Simpsons site like it’s 1999 again – with a brand new experience for new generations of fans.
Some original sections have been lost to the thralls of time and haven’t make the cut — like chat icons, java games, outdated downloads, and even the Milhouse File. But what’s here now reflects both where the site has been and where it’s going — with future updates planned to keep pace with the show.
Why now?
Because some things are worth preserving. Because the golden age of Simpsons web fandom deserves a proper monument. Because we used to build websites, not content feeds. And because this project, which began when I was a kid, now has a new audience — including my own daughter, who’s now the age I was when I started this.
I hope you enjoy browsing as much as I have enjoyed putting this together.
Awesome work! I just donated to a fan site for the first time. Wish I could give more! Well done!
Thank you for the kind gesture! 🙌
Glad you like it!
You really need to tell us what was in the Milhouse File.
