A total of 7.97 million viewers watched last night’s episode ‘Replaceable You’. Although slightly lower than last week, these figures are keeping fairly consistent – we haven’t seen any big fluctuations yet this season.
‘Allen Gregory’ followed at 8.30 with a very weak 4.31 million viewers, which goes to show, you cannot always successfully launch a new show off the back of a proven performer. Those numbers are far weaker than Bob’s Burgers. They’re also destroying Family Guy, providing a weak lead-in to a new episode has given the show its second week of low numbers – 5.73 million people tuned in. American Dad ended the night with 4.78 million viewers.
Fox was second placed among total viewers as well as in the 18 – 49 demographic. NBC beat the network in both categories thanks to Sunday Night Football.

This episode was pretty good. Even though Homer seems overly dumb sometimes I did find the scene where he’s going over paperwork with his little reading glasses funny. Some good lines in this one like when Homers told he’s getting demoted he asks “Up or down?”
I tried out that Allen Gregory show last night. I could only tolerate it for about 5 minutes before I turned the TV off. I couldn’t find one instance that was remotely funny and I really didn’t care for the art style. The part where you see the kids eating breakfast with their father who is flamboyantly gay was really unappealing. Not that the father is gay even but how he had his boyfriend making breakfast for them without a shirt. The kids are upset by it yet dad seems to be too turned on to care that it bothers his kids. Who is that joke supposed to appeal to, i don’t get it.
I thought the episode was ok. It was strange because you had two stories lines get about equal time in the show. usually they have one A story that you start and end with and 1 B story that slightly fills in. This one sort of felt like 2 B stories sharing the stage.
No doubt the Fox game of the week was a major player in the ratings but the simpsons has suprisingly seen consistent numbers even without the lead in for what, imho, has been a meh season. Anyways, woohoo!
Loved the episode, hated the ending.
I was also very happy to see Professor Frink and Doctor Nick make appearances.
I liked it too.
I think Jane Lynch’s guest appearance fit. It wasn’t a celebrity playing themselves… and even though we’ve seen episodes with new characters introduced at the plant (Homer’s assistant Karl, Mindy Simmons, Frank Grimes, etc.) this one was different.
I didn’t care for Family Guy’s episode. Allen Gregory is okay. I like it better than Bob’s Burgers.
I think next week though after The Simpsons I’ll just go to Apple TV and watch netflix. They got a ton of new tv shows.
23 seasons and still going strong! A 3.7 is great! While Family Guy has less than 10 years and can barley get 3.0! :p
This episode does bring up a good question: ‘Where IS Uter?’
I always find it strange when they actually kill off a character, no matter how minor. Simpsons has the biggest cast of characters in history and then they kill someone off in a episode with no real meat to it. I mean, Mrs. Glick wasn’t that important, but she set up a lot of the story in the 3 Men and a Comic Book. I hate to see them remove characters like this…
