When will Season 14 be released on DVD/Blu-Ray? The answer is finally here, thanks to TVShowsOnDVD.
Fans in the USA & Canada can get their copy on December 6th. The Complete 14th Season will be released in the UK on October 10th, and in Australia on November 30th.
As previously reported, the box art will feature Kang (or is that Kodos) with a special limited edition package available on DVD.
The 4-disc set on DVD has a suggested retail price of $49.98. The Blu-Ray version, which contains 3-discs, retails for $10 more.
Some of the special features include audio commentaries on all 22 episodes, deleted scenes with commentary, Featurettes (including one on the 300th episode), Original Sketches, Animation Showcases, Bonus Treehouse of Horror Episodes (available only on Blu-Ray), and more!
Bonus Treehouse of Horror Episodes available only on Blu-Ray? What the h***, Fox? I hope that this doesn’t apply for the UK version as well (FYI, I’m from the UK). I guess it shows that Fox don’t really care about its customers, and desperately need a reason for people to buy a 480p upscaled blu-ray.
Yea it especially sucks because season 14 is way before they even switched over to hd for the production of the show. There is no reason at all to buy it on blu-ray… Oh wait a minute I guess the extra episodes is the reason.
The limited edition DVD packs are awesome I might say – at least ever since they moved from the family heads.
People complained that the homer, lisa, marge, bart, maggie heads wouldn’t fit on DVD shelves… so now the heads since then (Krusty – season 12, Ralph – season 13, and now Kang for season 14) are removable. Underneath them is the normal standard dvd box which will fit perfectly with your other DVDs… but you have a cool head that comes off the front. I take them and arrange them on my bookshelf.
Highly recommend the limited edition… and Amazon usually sells them the cheapest (that’s their guarantee).
Can anyone here post the commentary info when the DVD is released?
Absolutely Ryan.
What kind of commentary information are you looking for?
According to TVShowsOnDVD the commentaries will include show runners Al Jean & Mike Scully as well as actors, writers, and directors.
Like how many Matt Groening is on or who is on each episode.
Sure. I can search for that info when it becomes available. The UK is the first to get the DVD release in October so I anticipate that’s when we’ll officially have word.
does no one find it strange that the blu-ray version takes 3 discs? aren’t they able to fit it on a 1 50gb or even 25gb disc?
